The Birdy Wall Light by Northern is part of a wall, table, and floor lamp series originally designed in 1952 in a modernist style, produced for many years by the Norwegian electricity company Sønnico. The table lamp version, then known as s-30016, was awarded the Golden Medal at the Milan Triennale in 1954. Northern re-launched the design in 2013, taking care to preserve the original shape and functional features that made it such an enduring favourite. With its slim swivel arm and angled metal shade, Birdy directs light with precision, suiting reading nooks, bedside walls, hallways, and study spaces.
