HausLights

HausLights is the lighting range of Hothaus Glass Studio, a Melbourne workshop that designs and works every piece in its own furnace. Founders Amanda Dziedzic and Laurel Kohut approach each form through the traditions of glassblowing, using colour as the mechanism for atmosphere rather than as decoration.

Colour is introduced during the blowing process itself, worked in from specially formulated glass rods rather than applied to the surface once finished. It sits within the glass and holds its depth over time. 

Pieces are worked to order, one at a time, and no two are ever quite identical. Small variations in colour and form are part of the glass and part of the process, not departures from it.
